Betty Winnie Brady (Mrs. Rupert O'Grady Brady) was born in Houston, Texas on August 30, 1914. A fourth generation Texan, Brady was born and reared in Houston before graduating from the University of Kansas, Lawrence.
She was known for painting a wide variety of subjects including landscape and portrait paintings. Her paintings are in many local collections and in addition in the collections of Mrs. Marjorie Merriweather Post of Washington and Palm Beach and Sir George & Lady Mahon of Dublin, Ireland.
In the 1940's she painted in the modernist style. She and her London born husband traveled extensively but made Houston home. She exhibited in the Annual Houston Artists Exhibitions of 1940, 1943, 1948 & 1954.
Betty Winnie Brady died in Houston on July 4, 1979.
