Dorothy Renals was born in Toronto in 1932 and since 1961, has devoted herself full time to painting, working from her Perth, Ontario studio.
Renals has achieved acclaim from her symbolist approach to wildlife painting. She creates from internal vision, rich with color, sensual and mystical. Her subjects-animals, birds, humans- are rendered with sharp precision, a contrast to the mysterious, dreamlike world in which they are set.
