| Born in London, England on June 16, 1887. Ethel was the wife of artist Samuel Smeaton. She arrived in California in 1914 and lived in Oakland and Los Angeles. In her leisure she painted small landscape watercolors. She died in Norfolk, England on April 22, 1957.
