| Born in Ohio in 1832. Mary was the wife of mining engineer John H. Holt. By 1868 she had settled in San Francisco and was active in the local art scene until the earthquake in 1906. She then moved across the bay to Oakland and died there on February 28, 1911. Exhibited: San Francisco Art Ass’n, 1873; California State Fair, 1881; Mechanics' Institute (San Francisco), 1868, 1882-85.
