Charles P. McCartney, AWS  1896-1969

Charles P. McCartney, a native of Ohio, studied art in Cleveland at the Cleveland School of Art and the John Huntington Polytechnic Institute under Frank Wilcox and Henry G. Keller. He furthered his studies with Elliott O'Hara in his water color school in Goose Rocks Beach, Maine.

Mr. McCartney was President of the Rochester Art Club from 1948-1950. He originated the popular "Sketch-Outings" for members of that club.

His water colors were exhibited in Rochester at the Memorial Art Gallery, the Rundel Memorial Library, the AAUW House, and the Eastman Kodak Main Office.
