This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Alfred M. Stocki, longtime Detroit artist and hypnotherapist, died Friday in Hartford Hospital, Hartford, Alabama, after suffering an apparent heart attack.

Mr. Stocki, 81, moved to Alabama last September.  A native of Canada, he came to the Detroit area as a child, and lived most of his life in East Detroit.

A painter who was especially noted for his landscapes in the style of old English masters, Mr. Stocki also produced nudes and religious works.

He worked as a hypnotherapist for many years and was an active member of the Michigan Hypnology Society.  He also was an astrologer and a member of the Scarab Club*.
