Philippe Charles Jacquet is a self-taught painter of landscapes who combines what is real and what is imagined. As a result, his compositions, heavily inspired by Brittany coasts and estuaries, have an element of the sublime and are intended to register deeply with the subconscious. He paints sparse landscapes intending something fundamentally pleasing in the surreal, idealized quality of his work.
Born in Paris in 1957, Jacquet was trained as an architect at the Ecole Natio (showing 500 of 1978 characters). |
