LUDWIG VON LOEFFTZ
The history, genre and landscape painter Ludwig von Loefftz, born in Darmstadt in 1845, first studied in Nürnberg, then he became a student of Diez at the Munich Academy in 1870. Four years later he began teaching, and by 1880, he was a full professor, then director between 1893 and 1899. Loefftz had his own private school by 1876 and he also took over Diez’s American students, one of whom was Charles F. Ulrich (1858-1908). John H. Twachtman studied (showing 500 of 1989 characters).
