| Minnie Amelia Van Petten was born in Illinois on Aug. 17, 1872. By 1920 Van Patten had settled in Pasadena. For many years she taught art at Robert Louis Stevenson School in Los Angeles. A spinster, she died there on Nov. 23, 1959.
