Alicia Meheen was born in Evanston, Illinois. Her family later moved to Carmel, California on Monterey Peninsula. She attended and graduated from Carmel High School. She studied art at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
She paints primarily in plein air, in both watercolor and oils. She began her watercolor study with Dorner Schueler in 1963. She has painted in plein air with such well known artists as Frank Myers, Richard Yip, and George Post.
For a period of time she lived in the Mother Lode country of California where she exhibited her works in several galleries. During her time in this area she was the President of the Calaveras County Art Association. After spending a short period of time living and painting Iran, she returned to and settled near Carmel.
Her works are widely exhibited in venues on the Monterey Peninsula. She has been an artist member of the prestigious Carmel Art Association since 1992. Meheen is also a Signature Member of the Monterey Bay Plein Air Painters Association.
