A graduate from the Young Ladies Academy in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, before the turn of the century, Laura M. Smith (later to marry Gibson Haste) embarked on a life journey embracing the art of painting on both china and canvas. Along with this came work in the process of firing 18 -22 Kt. Gold to both painted ornamental plates, and functional serving pieces. China pieces surviving today are near their original condition and show little or no deterioration in color, gold o (showing 500 of 819 characters). |
