Biography from Richard Schmid Fine Art Auction:
At the age of 40, Willis Miller was led to begin painting.   His first teacher, Janice Clark, was very instrumental in guiding him into the world of art.   Although he did not know her at the time, she observed some of his work in a frame shop.  She told the storeowner, “If he does not think he knows it all, I would like to teach him.”   From that point on she began instructing him without charge.  Around that time Janice Clark was featured in a book, A Fine Age - Creativity As A Key To Successful Aging.  Now Willis wants to share the wonder of God like Janice shared with him.

Willis Miller is a signature member of Mid-Southern Watercolorists and Artists of Northwest Arkansas.  He is also an Associate Member of Oil Painters of America, a member of Plein Air Painters of the Ozarks and Artist Fellowship.   His two dimensional artwork and sculptures are in collections from Beverly Hills to New York.   His two dimensional work includes mediums in watercolor, acrylic and oil.

“I believe art should express something about creation. It should motivate the observer to linger because of its extreme beauty, mystery, thought-provoking idea - or any combination of the three.  Art should express feelings with a unique style.  Art should also be structured on sophisticated design whether it is abstract or photo- realism.”
