Biography from Richard Schmid Fine Art Auction:
M.A.Martin ( Mary Anne Martin ) is a native of Colorado and lives in Stove Prairie.

Martin enjoys multi-medium and varied subject matter including South Western themes, three-dimensional fantasy (the fairie kingdom), fun cards, decorative feminine figures and even wood carving into furniture built and sold by her husband.  She has enjoyed illustrating for a children’s book all about Gargoyles.

M.A.Martin was influenced by Michelangelo, Dali, Rembrandt, Albrecht Bierstadt, Renoir, Rubin, Alphonse Mucha, Adolphe-William Bouguereau, Maxfield Parrish and a fabulous storytelling Irish grandfather.  She continues to find inspiration from these masters.

Although M.A. Martin attended Marymount College in Boca Raton, Florida, and studied under sculptor/painter Frank Varga, she is mostly self-taught.

Articles about her work have appeared in newspapers, The Artist Magazine and newly published book Women to Remember of Northern Colorado by Arlene Albright & Mary Hagen.

She has participated in individual and group exhibits and paints commission pieces.

Once a year, M.A. Martin has her own show, Visions From Stove Prairie,  and hosts a few artists. “ It’s a lot of fun & I learn as I go . . .and it’s definitely open to the public!”
