| William John Eckert was born in Colorado on Jan. 8, 1898. Eckert was active in California in 1924. He had an art studio in Denver, Colorado in 1930. While in Los Angeles in 1939, he assisted Millard Sheets in painting a 20’x25’ mural for the Golden Gate International Exposition. By 1940 he had moved to Oakland and was teaching art. He died in Los Altos, CA on Feb. 9, 1973.
