| | Born in Edinburgh, Scotland in April 1862. Edwards went to sea and, after sailing via Capetown and Australia, settled in San Francisco in 1912. A house painter by trade, in his leisure he painted seascapes and ship paintings which were sold at Gump's. He died in San Francisco on Nov. 25, 1937. | Source:
