| Born in Salt Lake City, UT on April 7, 1901. While a resident of San Francisco in 1928-41, Emerson worked for the Examiner. He was a WPA artist and worked on the murals in Coit Tower. He worked with Diego Rivera in San Francisco in the 1930s.
He died in his native city in March 1973.
