| Born in San Francisco, CA on Jan. 29, 1882. Jacobs studied at the Mark Hopkins Art Institute in 1897-99. After graduating from UC Berkeley, he earned a degree in architecture at M.I.T. and continued his art studies in Paris at Ecole des Beaux Arts. Some of San Francisco's most prominent buildings were of his design including the Curran and Granada theaters. A lifelong resident of his native city, he died on Dec. 14, 1954.
