| Born in Chelsea, KS on Dec. 27, 1871. Jordan studied in San Francisco at the School of Design in the 1890s and later with Anna A. Hills in Laguna Beach. He pioneered in the Imperial Valley where he learned to love and paint the desert. He maintained a citrus ranch there until his demise in Los Angeles on March 16, 1954.
