| Born on Feb. 5, 1889 in Leadville, CO. Florence McNeil moved to San Francisco at the turn of the century where she attended the Mark Hopkins Institute of Art. After graduation from the University of Nevada, she married architect Sydney H. Foster, son of artist Harriette Foster Goldnamer, in 1913. She then lived in Chicago and Oakland where she did architectural rendering for her husband's practice. From 1939 until 1954, she was an illustrator for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Fort Mason in San Francisco. Mrs. Foster died in Oakland, CA on April 4, 1963.
