| Born in Woodland Park, CO on Nov. 6, 1891. Foster was a cartoonist for the Denver Post before settling in Los Angeles in the 1920s. Locally, he worked as a commercial artist and for 54 years published "how to" art books in Tustin, CA. He died in Laguna Beach, CA on Sept. 30, 1981.
