This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Born in Michigan on april 17, 1909. Frederick was active in southern California from the 1920s. While working as an interior decorator in Los Angeles, in his leisure he painted Indians, cattlemen, and desert landscapes. He was known as “Smoke Tree George.” He died in San Diego, CA on May 10, 1994.
