This biography from the Archives of AskART:
He was born in Alameda, California and went to  high school in Oakland .  He had a sister and a brother. His mother was Irish and father Spanish.  He painted lots of landscapes, loved watercolor. In 1925 he worked on a cruise ship  between San Francisco and Australia.

He  was first married to a Margaret A. Packard.  He survived her and married Suzanne Desomer in 1977.  Six months after the birth of their daughter in 1979, Raymond passed away in San Francisco at the Arden Wood Benevolence Association from cancer and pneumonia.  He worked for Shell Oil for over 50 years. Lived in  Southern California, New York, and Northern California. He was president of the Marin Society of Artists in the late 50’s.  At the time he lived in Sausalito and had a gallery there. Eventually he moved to Santa Rosa Ca and lived in Oakmont.  

He traveled a lot to Paris to paint where he met his second wife.  When he got sick  he was still living in Santa Rosa  but needed special care from the pneumonia.

Born in California on April 2, 1902.  "Red" Raymond studied at the CCAC during 1920-23 and then worked in Oakland during the 1920s.  By 1941 he was on the advertising staff at Shell Oil Company in San Francisco.  He died there on April 22, 1979.
