| Born in San Francisco, CA on Aug. 20, 1879. After graduation from Lowell High School, Russ studied at the Mark Hopkins Art Institute. He worked as an artist at the turn of the century; by 1936 he was president of the Russ Estate Company. A lifelong resident of his native city, he died on Jan. 18, 1984.
