This biography from the Archives of AskART:
At the turn of the century Gertrude Byron studied at the Mark Hopkins Art Institute and then taught art in the California public schools.  Shortly thereafter, she wed a man named Hatch.  During the 1920s and 1930s she worked in San Francisco as a commercial artist.  In 1946 she became the wife of Dr. Doxey Wilson and settled in San Jose, CA where she resided until at least 1956.
