| | Born in Lewistown, IL on Jan. 2, 1888. Hayes studied at the San Francisco Institute of Art, CCAC, and the Carnegie Institute. She taught in the public schools of Oakland during 1914-16 and then continued teaching in the public schools of Pittsburgh, PA.
