| Born in Macomb, Illinois on July 28, 1904, Porter moved to Riverside, California with her family in 1908. Following graduation from UCLA, she settled in San Francisco in 1930 and continued her studies at the CSFA.
After a brief period with Foster & Kleiser (billboards), she became a freelance artist. She illustrated ads for many leading products and contributed drawings to Sunset magazine. Many of her paintings reflect her travels around the world.
She died in Greenbrae, California on Feb. 2, 1996.
