| Born in Kentucky in 1868. Potter studied at the CSFA and by 1918 was living in San Francisco. By 1926 he had settled in San Bernardino. During the 1930s he worked for the WPA and taught at the Chouinard Art Institute. He died in Los Angeles on Feb. 8, 1939.
