| Born in Scott Bar, CA on Oct. 24, 1874. Hetschel studied at USC, the Mark Hopkins Art Institute, CCAC, and Columbia University. She taught at Chico (CA) State Teachers College, University of Nevada, and in Oakland at the California College of Arts & Crafts (Oakland) and Technical High School. A spinster, she died at Agnew (CA) State Hospital on Nov. 30, 1953.
