| Born on a cattle ranch in Colorado on Oct. 12, 1898. Ellen's marriage to Fredhof Osterberg ended in divorce in 1921. She then moved to southern California and spent four years in the High Sierra, Huntington, and Florence Lake areas sketching and painting. From the late 1920s until 1937 she was Mrs. John Herman and had a studio in Long Beach. In 1937 she settled near Santa Cruz into a studio-home overlooking the ocean. Also a composer of music, one of her composition (showing 500 of 870 characters). |
