Duncan de Kergommeaux is a first generation Canadian of Breton descent born in Northern British Columbia in 1927.  His career as an artist has spanned 5 decades: the 1950’s and 1960’s in Ottawa, and the 1970’s through 2000 in London, Ontario where he was a professor of art at University of Western Ontario.

Since 1951, he has had more than 50 solo exhibitions across Canada, including an exhibition circulated by the National Gallery of Canada, and many national group shows including two NGC Biennials.  His last major exhibition, Vanishing Icons, was in St John’s, Newfoundland in 2002.

His work is in major private collections, corporate collections and public collections including the NGC and the Art Gallery of Ontario.  Major holdings of his work are in Carleton University Art Gallery, The MacIntosh Gallery (UWO) and the London Regional Art Gallery. He has recently built a studio/home in the Gatineau Hills.
