| Born in NYC on Oct. 8, 1896. An ace in the U.S. Air Corps during WWI, Holden was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross. After earning a bachelor of arts degree at Princeton Unversity, he studied at Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He moved to Hollywood in 1932 and was a color designer for Selznick Studios on "A Star is Born" and "Garden of Allah." He died in a plane crash in Sparta, TN on Nov. 13, 1938.
