| Born in Texas on Nov. 12, 1898. By the 1930s Dean (née Dalkowitz) had moved to southern California. After settling in Los Angeles, she worked as a statistics collector for the IRS while painting in her leisure. A spinster, she died in Los Angeles on April 2, 1982.
