| Born in Boston, MA on Aug. 7, 1850. Doyle arrived in San Francisco with his parents in 1853. After studying with Domenico Tojetti and Marion Wells, he specialized in portrait busts. For 28 years he was supervisor of manual training in San Francisco public schools. He married in 1885 and settled into a studio-home across the bay in Berkeley at 1623 Scenic Avenue. He died there on Feb. 8, 1938.
