| Born in Rock Island, IL on Jan. 23, 1881. Mrs. Garfield settled in La Mesa, CA in 1908. Having studied at the AIC, she continued her art studies locally with Charles A. Fries from 1910 until his death in 1940. She died in La Mesa on Feb. 27, 1966.
