Kansas painter, Philip Hershberger, describes his artistic philosophy
with these words, "I want to create a scene in a space that is not tied
down to a specific time. There are things that are there and not
quite there. I'm playing those opposite things off each other:
land and sky, object and space."
Hershberger's honors include the Kansas Governor's Arts Awards, 1999;
Kansas Artist Fellowship, 1998; American Academy of Arts and Letters
Purchase Exhibition, NY, 1996 (showing 500 of 1210 characters). |
