| Hood was born October 22, 1943 in Wichita, Kansas. Native American, member of the Choctaw tribe. Earned at BAE in 1967, a MA in 1972, and a MFA in 1975 from Wichita State Univ. Also studied at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, 1972-73, and the Minneapolis School of Art, 1972-73. Served as curator at the Ulrich Museum of Art from 1971, as curator for the Institute of American Indian Arts Museum in Santa Fe, and as curator at the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, OK.
