| | Roy Emery Miller was born on December 23, 1883 in Ohio. He began building an elaborate rock garden in 1932 and continued working on it until his death. With his wife, he made nearly 50 trips to Colorado to bring back a load of rocks to recreate the tourist attractions of the Rocky Mountains in miniature around their home in Lucas, Kansas. | Source:
