| Arthur Frederick Cain was born in Canada on May 13, 1897. By 1930 Cain had moved to San Diego and was working as a decorator. With Pauline Hirst and Edwin Frank, he painted a mural of San Gorgonio Pass in the Banning (CA) High School library for the Federal Art Project in 1939. He died in San Diego on Sept. 7, 1988.
