Alan A. Munro was born in Wichita, Kansas on January 29, 1930. He earned a BA from Peabody College in Nashville in 1952 and a MFA from Wichita State Univ. (Kansas) in 1956. Taught as a lecturer at Wichita State from 1956-58, moved to Huntington High School in NY for 1958-61, was appointed assistant professor at the Univ. of Iowa from 1961-62, and moved to Oregon State Univ. as professor of art in 1962, remaining until his retirement in 1995.
