| Francis "Frank" N. Nichols II was born in Kansas in 1935. He earned a BA from Kansas State Teacher's College in Emporia, Kansas and an MFA from Wichita State University (Kansas) in 1967.
He was a pupil of David Bernard and Robert Kiskadden, and he taught printmaking at Fort Hays State University (Kansas) from 1967-99. He initiated the Annual High School Exhibition in 1972 and supervised it until his retirement. In 1972 he also organized the High Plains Printmakers’ Group so his students would have an opportunity to exhibit their work.
Member: Kansas Watercolor Society; American Print Alliance.
Exhibitions: Oklahoma National Print & Drawing Exhibition, 1968, 1970; Springfield, MO, 1969; Duke Univ., 1975; Moss-Thorn Gallery of Art, 2000; Chanute Art Gallery, 2001; and many more.

Francis "Frank" N. Nichols II was born in Kansas in 1935. He earned a BA from Kansas State Teacher's College in Emporia, Kansas and a MFA from Wichita State University in 1967. He taught printmaking at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas from 1967 until 1999.
He initiated the Annual High School Exhibition in 1972 and supervised it until his retirement. In 1972 he also organized the High Plains Printmakers’ Group so his students would have an opportunity to exhibit their work.
Nichols was a member of the Kansas Watercolor Society and the American Print Alliance.
