| Margaret "Madge" Jean Overstreet (Mrs. L. R. Wright, Mrs. Frank Pitt McLennan) was born in Texas in 1867. She lived in Emporia, Kansas in the 1880s where her father was a Presbyterian minister, an educator, and a founder of the College of Emporia. Attended Emporia schools and Emporia State Teachers College before completing her degree at Lindenwood College in St. Charles, MO. Taught at the College of Emporia then studied art in Paris and New York. Established a studio in New York Cit (showing 500 of 1183 characters). |
