Biography from The Benjaman Gallery:
20th Century American artist known for his fluid and whimsical Impressionist paintings.

His watercolors depict wonderful flowing movement and soft colors.

Wong painted landscapes and rural scenes that evoke slow summer days.  Walks in the park and boating on the river were some of his favorite topics.

His Asian background comes through strongly in his paintings of Chinese fishermen and their catch beneath the majestic backdrop of mountains, so typical of that landscape.

Wong also painted portraits that clearly illustrated his ability to project emotion and tenderness.  Many dancers, actors, and other artists living in Wong's neighborhood sat with him for hours as he painted a perfect representation of their essence.

Wong had a studio in the Lower East Side of New York City but traveled widely. He painted scenes from his travels through San Fransisco, Buffalo, Boston, Provincetown, The Bahamas, Europe and of course New York City.
