This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Karl Stecher was born in Oberkirsche, Germany around 1831. He studied painting and music in Karlsruhe, Germany.  Moved to Paris where he did figures for stained glass windows and painted watercolors.  Moved to New York in 1874 where he designed all the windows for Manhattan’s “Little Church Around the Corner.”  Moved to Wichita, Kansas where he continued painting into his 90s.
