| F. Leonard Stout was born in Winfield, Kansas around 1909. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1929-30 and then at Bethany College, Lindsborg as a pupil of Birger Sandzén from 1931-35. He graduated from Bethany in 1937. Taught art at Drake Univ. in Des Moines, IA. Served in the army before moving to Wichita to work drafting and illustrating for companies.
