| Hortense Peck Wilson was born in Kansas City. Wilson started taking private lessons in watercolor during high school and college. Earned a BA from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas and also studied art at the Kansas State Teachers College in Pittsburg. Moved to Dodge County, NE in 1958. Did the illustrations for Orleatha Kellogg’s 1982 book Bloom on the Land.
