Born in Romania in 1923 under the name of Rodica Valeanu, she later lived in France where she also painted under the pseudonym of Guy Vallot.

Painting in a cubist and post-cubist style, especially circus scenes, she later created geometric abstract work and most importantly, she was one of the first Letterist painters along with Pomerand and Roberthay.

The Lettriste Movement (Letterism) was launched in post-war Paris by the Romanian Isidore Isou (born Jean-Isidore Goldstein, 1925) and the Frenchman Gabriel Pomerand (born Paris, 1926).

Early Lettriste activity was centered on sound poetry but the emphasis soon shifted to visual production. Here, letters were seen to form the basic unit from which works should be created. The resulting forms, which resemble concrete poetry, typify lettriste literary endeavors.  In Lettriste painting, the letter became the basic subject of aesthetic contemplation.

The first Lettriste painters were Pomerand, Guy Vallot (Rodica Valeanu) and Roberdhay.
