| Frances Eleanore Schumann Howell was born in Grand Rapids, MI on Feb. 5, 1905. Frances Schumann was educated at Ohio Weslyan University, UCLA, and Columbia University (M.A.). In 1930 she wed artist Youldon Howell and began a long teaching career in Pasadena at John Muir Jr. College and Pasadena City College. Mrs. Howell died at her home in Menifee Valley, CA on Jan. 18, 1994. Her subjects include landscapes, florals, and animals.
