This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Greg Evans (born November 13, 1947)[1] is an American cartoonist and the creator of the syndicated comic strip Luann.  He received the National Cartoonist Society Reuben Award for 2003 for the strip.  He has also been nominated four other times for the same award.

He has written a musical based on Luann, titled Luann: Scenes In A Teen's Life, which debuted at Palomar College in San Marcos, CA in March 2008.  The cast included Rachel Robinson as Luann, Sean Hannify as Brad, Alyssa Schindler as Bernice, Lauren DeBraun as Delta, Jordan Gray as TJ, Caitlin Kunkle as Tiffany, and many other actors and actresses from the area. The show was directed by Dana Case.

Prior to Luann, Evans published the comic strip Fogarty, which was distributed free to many high school newspapers.  It featured the character "Mr. Fogarty", who continues in the same role as a character in Luann.

He lives in San Diego.
