Biography from Askart.com:
Michael Charron is a plein-air painter and his work represents to him the junction of art and the out-of-doors, the two enduring loves of his life.  He often seeks out remote settings, and eccentrically uses four pet llamas as his pack animals to carry his supplies.  All his small paintings are created on site, and all his large studio paintings are based on sketches done in nature.

Interestingly Charron lays down a prayer in the gesso of all his studio paintings before obscuring it with the painting itself.  This underscores his interest in transcendental approaches to painting.  Though Charron does not specifically refer to transcendentalist painters in terms of an influence, his work, like theirs, is spiritually charged with what he refers to as optical communions.

Charron’s thinking is that this overt ontological treatment to the canvases reflects the values of a world wide cultural movement currently underway, that being a spiritual undercurrent.  For art to be enduring it must reflect values of the culture from which it comes, Charron participates in the metaphysical culture of “higher consciousness” as put forth by quantum physicists and New Age concepts.  He knows his paintings are manifested expressions from the quantum domain, and most likely will be appreciated/collected more for their written imbuing than their realist aesthetic.
