This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Anee Batchellor was a student of the Artist-Artisans Institute* in New York City 1894 through 1896.  It was an industrial art college begun in 1888, and instructors during those years included Mrs. Florence E. Cory, textile design; Walter Shirlaw, Charles C. Curran; F. Wellington Ruckstuhl, the sculptor; and George Wharton Edwards, the well-known illustrator.  The School was organized by John Ward Stinson– himself a graduate of Yale and the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris.  Batchellor was also a student of the Delecluse Institute* in Paris in 1897 and 1898.

In 1898 she was hired as Director of the Art Department at Olivet College in Olivet, Michigan.  There she taught drawing and painting.  In addition, she was appointed Dean of Women in 1900.  She was to remain at the College until 1920.
